Glory and Agony!!!

It has been a week of mixed emotions for me in the world of sport.
One of my favourite sporting teams lifted the cup in the most prestigious
and most fiercely contested league in the world whereas the other stumbling
upon obstacles in a cash enriched league. Congratulations to Manchester United
for beleiving in themselves to lift their third silverware of the season. This
team is going from strength to strength backing their abilities to great effect. Seeing their Current form the hunt for the quadraple. is certainly on. They are certainly the best team not
only in europe but also in the whole world right now.

There were many people including me who thought Mumbai indians would be the front-runner for this years IPL trophy. Seeing them coming so close and losing out yet again was a big
pain. I support that team mainly of one man - Sachin Tendulkar. I just cant see him lose but unfortunetely that has been the case for past few weeks. It seems that they cannot
finish of a match without any hiccups. The main reason for this their over dependency on the two stalwarts Sachin nd Sanath, if they misfire then Mumbai Indians is an average side. Also i thought sachin's handling of his bowlers especially Bhajji was poor. Some of his field
setup was also questionable.Apart form Lasith nd bhajji no bowlers looked threatening enough Surely this team needs a lot of rework before the next season.So Sachin Rock the World!! next
time...

Oscar Glory!!!

Congrats to team slumdog for their sweep of oscars!!!, though i disagreed with many of boyle's creativity slumdog was a film with heart. But i sincerely believe that jai ho was not rehman's best. The main factor the film worked was because of the cast and the direction, all the jamals and salim's were terrific, anil kapoor was charming , irfan khan looked realistic and the direction of danny boyle was spot on. One thing i am very happy about is that resul pookutty won an oscar for sound mixing, its not often that backroom guys are recogonized and i am very happy for him..
Congrats once again team Slumdog Millionare..

Rise and Fall

The way the Australians are going it wont be too long they meet the fate of the windies of late 80's . It will be unfortunate to see the team that i saw growing up as invincibles to meet such a tragic fate. But though i hate ponting's captaincy i still believe that they have the firepower to come back form the difficult position they are in right now. But it may take time as they have a no: of young players still trying to make a mark. I think the aussie selectors were Right of dropping lee for their tour of sa b'cause i personally feel he is not at is best and deserves a break. This would make priety zinta happy as he would be available throughout the IPL. Philip Hughes is a very good selection but my vote is for shaun marsh as hayden's successor because he has the right amount of caution and aggression. Team India meanwhile is been on the other end of the balance as they are winning match by match under dhoni. They are thrashing lanka at their own fort and that to convincingly.!!! If Aussies lose to new Zealand then it will be very easy for Dhoni's Boys to become No:1 for the very first time in ICC Rankings. But the real test is to come when they tour new Zealand. Swinging and seaming pitches have been a worry for India always and if India prove their mettle their only they can begin their real quest for the numero uno position.
